To celebrate Veterans Day and salute our current and former military members and their families, throughout the month of November, Pine Canyon and its residents are participating in the Greenlight a Vet™ program.

This new program was created by Walmart to shine the light on the professional and personal struggles vets can face when their service comes to an end. The project calls for Americans to display green lights on their homes and offices to show support for the more than 2.5 million families who have dealt with deployments since 2001.

Pine Canyon is participating in this important campaign by illuminating the eagle sculpture and six trees near the entrance with green lights. Additionally, full time residents will show their support by changing at least one light on their home to green.

Green is the color of hope, renewal and well-being. “Greenlight” is also a term commonly used to activate forward movement. The simple action of changing one light to green is intended to spark a national conversation regarding the recognition of veterans, and “greenlight” them forward as valued members of our communities.
