If you don’t want to wander far from home, Pine Canyon is home to plenty of winter activities.

Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing enthusiasts simply have to walk out their front door to take advantage of the open spaces and rolling hills of the Pine Canyon golf course. To organize an outing with other members, call the concierge desk.

Grab the family and your sleds and meet on us the 18th tee box for a Pine Canyon
tradition – downhill sledding! A snow mobile pulls the kids back to the top for more fun! We’ll have hot cocoa and homemade cookies for the kids and hot toddies for the parents. Watch the weekly email blast for coordinated dates and times.

Snow Play
No special equipment is needed to enjoy some good ol’ fashioned fun in the snow! Make snow angels, build a snowman, or have a snowball fight.

Ice Skating
IMG_6949This winter, we have an ice skating area adjacent to the Deer Creek community on Clubhouse Circle. Bring your own ice skates and enjoy a neighborhood game of hockey or practice your pirouettes. Ice skating rink hours are dependent upon weather. Please call the concierge desk to confirm.

Warming up By the Fire
If you prefer to take in the beauty of the snow from a distance, enjoy the peacefulness of a winter wonderland while cozied up by the fire. Grab a blanket, a good book, and a hot beverage.

If you want to venture outside of the community to enjoy the great outdoors, Flagstaff has several recreation areas where you can play in the snow.

Arizona Snowbowl
Located on the western slope of Mount Humphreys in the majestic San Francisco Peaks, Snowbowl offers 777 acres, five chairlifts and two conveyors for skiing and snowboarding.

Fort Tuthill
Play in the snow, snowshoe, cross-country ski, or tube/sled in this Coconino County Park. There is plenty of parking, as well as picnic ramadas for enjoying an outdoor lunch.

Flagstaff Nordic Center
Located in a snow-pocket of the San Francisco Peaks, this is the premier cross-country ski location in Arizona.

Mormon Lake Lodge Winter Activity Center
In addition to being another site for cross-country skiing, guided snowmobile rides are available through miles of forest trails.

So grab the family, bundle up and get outside and take advantage of the many activities that can only be enjoyed during the winter months at Pine Canyon!
