For nearly 40 years, The Arboretum at Flagstaff has been educating visitors about plants and plant communities native to the Colorado Plateau. Among their many annual events, the Pumpkin Walk is a family-favorite celebration revolving around everyone’s favorite orange gourd.
This year’s festivities are being held on Friday and Saturday, October 25–26, 4–7 pm. There’s nothing better to get you into the Halloween spirit than strolling through The Arboretum gardens, flashlight in hand, weaving along a path illuminated by creatively carved pumpkins.
Both days include a costume parade and contest, fall crafts, and a bonfire where you can relax, enjoy food and drinks by Wicked Burgers, and listen to spooky stories. On Friday only, you can put your artistic talents on display during the Carved Pumpkin Contest. (Insider tip: Head to the Lumberyard Brewery Patio on Thursday, October 24, 3:30–5:30 pm, to enjoy a beverage and create your entry. Pumpkins will be available while supplies last.)
